Who We Are

Werner, Juk, Baudelio & Cia. (WJB) is a Mexican Intellectual Property management organization incorporated in 1999, though some of us have over 30 years experience in the field of intellectual property. We deal with trademark and patent registration, renewals and disputes for many customers.
Any person who intends to rely upon or use the information contained herein in any way is solely responsible for independently verifying the information and obtaining independent expert advice if required.

Data Usage

Where we obtain data

When we get contacted via e-mail, phone call, instant messengers, fax and personal presentations, our websites/online-profiles or surveys through any electronic device we may collect and store some of this information:

  • Name of Company
  • Name(s) of contact(s)
  • e-mail(s)
  • Address(es)
  • Phone Number(s)
  • Case Numbers (internal, company’s, IMPI’s and other Organization’s/Institute’s)
  • Brand Name(s)
  • Non-identifiable browser and system information (Operating System, Web engine, etc.)

How we use collected data

At WJB, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our clients, contacts and website visitors. We do not sell, rent or trade email lists or any customer data with other companies and/or businesses. This Privacy Policy will provide detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
We use your information to represent you before the Mexican IP Institute, Federal and Specialized IP courts, The National Copyright Institute, Mexican Customs and other Federal organizations. This use of your information is directed towards representing you and your clients in relation to all IP matters and providing the services associated with IP registration and enforcement.

Some of this information may be forwarded to partners, associates and other service providers as part of the IP services that we provide our clients.
When information is provided to us for a service request you are agreeing to the use of personal information so we can carry out the services you request as well as quality surveys, notices of updates/changes in International and national legislation related to IP, marketing, offers for services and promotional communications. This includes transmission, communication or sharing of this information with our business partners, associates and service providers (including but not limited to: translation services, additional legal services and services in other countries provided through our associates).
We may also use your contact information to provide information about modifications, changes and updates within the national and international judicial frames that might affect your rights on intellectual or industrial properties.

What are cookies?

Cookies are very small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit some websites.

We use a combination of session cookies and persistent cookies in order to track how you use and experience our website, build anonymous statistical data about how our website is performing, and to power the personalization of website content to you.

Surveys

We may ask our clients to answer a short survey to better our services. In this case, personal information such as name and e-mail address are voluntary and will only be used to answer questions or comments regarding the answered survey. The option to receive our Newsletter is voluntary and in case of a positive answer name, e-mail and firm will be added to our mailing list. Surveys are anonymous (unless personal information is optionally filled in by the respondent) but certain non-identifiable data may be collected by our survey system and/or website for visitor analytics only.

Access to your personal information

You have the right to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold about you. To request access please email trademarks@wjbip.com. We will provide the information free of charge and within one month, except in the event that the request is unfounded, excessive or repetitive, in which case we reserve the right to charge a proportionate administration fee or refuse.

Rectification of personal information

If any of the information we hold on you is inaccurate or incomplete, you may ask us to correct or complete it at any time.

Your right of erasure, or to be forgotten

You may request the deletion of any personal information we hold on you at any time.
Be aware that if you have ever been a paying customer then your data deletion, except unsubscribing from specific mailing lists, is not total. This means that we will keep a minimal record of you having done business with us, including any previous instructions you have given us on our dealings together. This does not affect your other rights in any way.

To request deletion of your personal information, contact trademarks@wjbip.com using the email address we hold for you or otherwise proving your identity.

Data Retained

In all cases we will keep a database of NAMES only that will help us identify individuals that have previously requested Data Erasure as not to add their information to our database(s). If an entity has requested Data Erasure but then requests services from The Company then we will add the pertinent contact information, as stated in the Data Collection section of this policy, to our database(s) without explicitly informing said entity about this action.

This privacy notice does not cover the links within this site to other websites. Those sites are not governed by this Privacy Policy. If you have questions about how a site uses your information, you’ll need to check that site’s privacy statement.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
Whenever we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

WJB may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. This policy is effective from 14th June 2018.
